Author Jerry Lewis Johnson to Speak and Sign Copies of His Book Tonight at BuffaLouie’s
Lafayette Indiana native and Indiana University Graduate Jerry Lewis Johnson will be at BuffaLouie’s in Bloomington this evening from 6-7 PM to discuss and sign copies of his book “A Dark Night in the Fieldhouse”. The book is an historical fiction depicting the Indiana High School Basketball State Championship Game between Indianapolis Crispus Attucks and Gary Roosevelt in which it’s the first time that two all African American Schools competed together for a State Championship. After Brown versus Board of Education passed through the Supreme Court outlawing segregation in America and it was the game that changed basketball forever. The Story starts with the 1954 State Championship Game when Tiny Milan beat Muncie Central which was depicted in the movie Hoosiers and could see been as a sequel to Hoosiers.  The Event is free and copies of the book will be available for purchase. BuffaLouie’s is located at 114 South Indiana Avenue across from the Indiana University Sample Gates.

Four Indiana HS State Baseball Champions Crowned to Close 2020-21 School Year
The last athletic event of the 2020-21 School year as come to a close as Four State Champions were crowned Monday and Tuesday Night with the IHSAA State Baseball Championships at Victory Field in Indianapolis. In Class 1A Washington Township beat Shakamak 6-0 to win their first state championship in any team sport and go to the entire season without hitting a home run.  In Class 2A Providence beat Eastside 4-0 to win its second state baseball title along with winning it all in 2016. Dubois County took home the Class 3A and Class 4A Championships with Southridge beating Hanover Central 2-0 to win its first baseball state championship and Jasper beating Fishers 3-1 to win its 6th state title and its first in Class 4A.

Indiana Pacers to Pick 13th in 2021 NBA Draft
The Indiana Pacers will select 13th overall in the 2021 NBA Draft on July 29th after the NBA Draft Lottery was held Tuesday Night. The Pacers own two Second Round Selection with the 54th and 60th Overall Picks. This will be the highest pick the Pacers have had since 2011 when they selected Myles Turner 11th overall. The Pacers have had the 13th pick 3 times before in NBA Draft History. The Pacers Drafted Dudley Bradley in 1979, Dale Davis in 1991 and Tyler Hansbrough in 2009. The Detroit Pistons won the Draft Lottery followed by Houston second, Cleveland third, Toronto fourth and Orlando fifth which gets the Pick from Chicago.

Phoenix Suns beat the Los Angeles Clippers 104-103 in Game 2 Western Conference Finals
The Phoenix Suns beat the Los Angeles Clippers 104-103 in Game 2 of the NBA Western Conference Finals. The Suns lead the series 2-0. Former Indiana University Star Yogi Ferrell did not play for the Clippers.  Former Purdue Standout E’Twaun Moore played 11 minutes and scored 2 points off the bench for Phoenix. Moore won a State Championship at East Chicago Central HS in 2007 and played at Purdue from 2007-2011.
