Body found in west side Bloomington parking lot
On Thursday, March 29, 2024, at 4:41 PM, Deputies responded to a report of a death in the parking lot of 2911 S. Leonard Springs Road. Upon arrival, Deputies located a subject in the back seat of his vehicle along the east edge of the property. Family members found the deceased subject.

Toxicology results are pending from the Monroe County Coroner’s Office.

This is still under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division and the Monroe County Coroner’s Office

The 15th Annual Trashion Refashion Runway Show at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater, April 7th
15th Annual Trashion Refashion Runway Show returns live on stage at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater at 7pm on Sunday, April the 7th. A flagship of the Bloomington arts and entertainment scene since 2010, the annual Trashion Refashion runway show promotes environmental sustainability and artistic creativity while challenging conventional notions about beauty and consumerism.

The show will highlight over 50 original looks upcycled from discarded items by local artists and modeled by a diverse troupe of community residents. This fundraising event to support the Center for Sustainable Living features locally made couture sure to inspire the fashion creatives lurking inside us all.

Doors open at 6:30pm for the 7:30 start on place Sunday, April 7 at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater, at 114 E. Kirkwood Avenue in Bloomington. General admission tickets for the all-ages show are available for $19 in advance, $24 day of show, and $14 for children and students at the BCT box office or on its website

Indiana State Police Regional Dispatch Center (Fort Wayne) Hiring Shift Supervisor
The Indiana State Police is accepting applications for a Shift Supervisor at the Region II Dispatch Center which is located at the Fort Wayne Post 5811 Ellison Road, Fort Wayne.  The Region II Dispatch Center covers the Fort Wayne Post (11) county region, as well as the Peru Post (7) county region.  

A Regional Dispatch Center Shift Supervisor’s primary responsibility is to provide shift supervision to Regional Dispatchers to ensure efficient and accurate telecommunications operation relating to operational and personnel functions at the Regional Dispatch Center, including the oversight and use of a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system, Records Management System (RMS), Automatic Vehicle Locator (AVL), Geographical Information System (GIS) and other Regional Dispatch Center resources.

Pay starts at $53,222.00 per year but may be adjusted based on education, experience, and training. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plans, and accrued time off.
