Fryfogle to return to IU next season

The Big Ten Receiver of the Year Ty Fryfogle is coming back to Indiana University for the 2021 season. Making the announcement over social media, Fryfogle will use his extra year of eligibility granted to all NCAA athletes this season, due to COVID-19, to return as a Hoosier next year. During this year’s abbreviated season, he had 37 catches for 721 yards, 7 touchdowns, and was the only receiver in Big Ten history to have back-to-back 200-yard games. Fryfogle and QB Michael Penix Jr. will be one of the nation’s most lethal offensive duos.

Schwarber released by Cubs

IU alum Kyle Schwarber will become an unrestricted free agent. The 27-year-old former star of the 2013 IU team which earned a spot in the College Baseball World Series became an unlikely star of the Chicago Cubs and helped them in 2016 to win their first World Series in over 100 years. After a disappointing season last year, the Cubs opted to not risk having to fulfill his $8 Million contract. In 2020, Schwarber averaged .188 with 66 strike outs in less than 200 at bats.

Pacers take on Suns tonight

The 6-2 Central leading Indiana Pacers take on the 6-3 Pacific leading Phoenix Suns this evening. Pacer Point Guard Malcolm Brogdon has been fueling the Indiana offense this season, averaging over 23 points per game. He will need to continue his strong efforts against a well-rounded Phoenix team led by All Star Guard Devin Booker. Tonight’s showdown at Bankers Life Fieldhouse will tip off at 7pm on Fox Sports TV.
