Today’s Sports Headlines are brought to us by . . .

Girls Basketball Tournament Draw Announced 
The Parings for the IHSAA Girls State Basketball Tournament have been announced with the sectionals taking place February 2-6th.  In Class 4A at East Central Columbus North will face Bloomington South Tuesday Night with the Winner of the game to take on Bloomington North in the second semifinal Friday Night. In Class 3A at Edgewood Northview will play the host team Edgewood in the 2nd game Wednesday Night with the winner to face Brownstown Central/Owen Valley winner in the 2nd Semifinal Friday Night. In Class 1A at Bloomfield Lighthouse Christian will Face White River Valley in the first game Wednesday Night with the winner to face the Eminence/Bloomfield winner in the 2nd Game on Friday Night. All Sectional Championship Games will take place February 6th. The Regionals will be Saturday February 13th, Semi-states are Saturday February 20th, and the State Finals will Saturday February 27th at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. 

Schedule Updates for Indiana Women’s Basketball Announced   
The 16th Ranked Indiana Women’s Basketball Team will Host 17th ranked Ohio State Thursday January 28th at 8 PM on the Big Ten Network. The Hoosiers and Buckeyes were originally scheduled to play February 4th. The Hoosiers will host Michigan State Sunday January 31st at 4 PM on Big Ten Network Plus. 
Mackenzie Holmes Named Big Ten Player Of Week 
Indiana Women’s Basketball Sophomore Mackenzie Holmes has been named Big Ten Women’s Basketball player of the week. The Gorham Maine Native scored 22 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for 3rd Double-Double of the season and was 6-7 from the Free Throw Line in a 74-61 win at Northwestern on Sunday Afternoon. 

Indiana Baseball Outfielder Grant Richardson Earns Third Preseason All America Honor 
Indiana Baseball Outfielder Grant Richardson earned his third preseason All America honor. Richardson was named Third-Team Preseason All America by D1 Baseball. Previously he was named preseason first team All America by both perfect game and Colligate Baseball. in a shortened 2020 season Richardson earned third team All America honors from Collegiate Baseball. Richardson started all 14 Games he appeared in, leading the Hoosiers a .424 batting average, 5 Home Runs, 17 RBI, 21 runs scored and .797 slugging percentage.
