Bloomington icon Keith Klein passes away
We are sad to report that Keith Klein, a prominent member of the Bloomington Community has passed at age 79. Keith has been a Monroe County Community School Corporation Board Member for the past dozen years, but his local legacy is much more. Keith was the chair of the Communications Department at the Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington Campus, and worked in local television and radio for decades. He had recently been recognized for dedicating 50 years to his side work as a high school athletics officiant. Keith has also served in the public eye as the host of numerous community events, including his annual emcee spot with the Holiday Lighting of the Downtown Bloomington Square. Man leads Bloomington Police on chase
59-year-old Terrel Graves has been arrested after leading Bloomington Police in a car pursuit yesterday. Graves, who was driving a grey Ford Mustang, was recognized by an officer for allegedly disregarding a stop sign but refused to pull over. After speeding away from downtown Bloomington, heading west on second street, the car was placed in reverse and slammed into a squad car; and continued westerly. Eventually, Graves performed a U-turn and drove east on Second Street, but eventually lost control of his vehicle near the intersection of Allen and Patterson. Tasers were required in the detainment, and Graves now faces felony charges of resisting Law Enforcement and Reckless Driving. No serious injuries were reported stemming from the incident.
NSWC Crane announces Dr. Angie Lewis as its new Technical Director
Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division’s (NSWC Crane) has announced its new Technical Director (TD), the first woman to ever be selected for the position. Dr. Angie Lewis has been selected to serve as TD where she will serve as the senior civilian at the command, which consists of more than 3,800 military and government civilians providing the Navy with acquisition engineering, in-service engineering, and technical support for sensors, electronics, electronic warfare, and special warfare weapons. Dr. Lewis brings more than 30 years of experience to the position. Most recently, she served as the Business Director and Corporate Operations Department Manager at NSWC Crane Division, providing executive level leadership for the command’s strategic plan, senior level customer outreach, program office interface, and corporate business capabilities. She was responsible for an integrated approach to investment and resource planning to ensure strong technical health and relevant capabilities are in place for execution of Electronic Warfare, Strategic Systems and Expeditionary Warfare missions.
