Indiana Women’s Basketball Beats Illinois 
Indiana Women’s Basketball beats Illinois 58-50 yesterday in Champaign. Ali Patberg led the way 16 Points, Nicole Cardano-Hillary added 11, Grace Berger 10 points and Mackenzie Holmes had 7 Points and 10 Rebounds. The Hoosiers have won 4 in a row and 8 of the last 9 games. The Hoosiers have won 12 straight against the Illini which is the longest streak against any conference opponent. The Hoosiers are 13-4 Overall and 11-2 in the Big 10. The Hoosiers will Host Michigan Thursday on the Big Ten Network. 

Kristina Paegle Wins Individual State Swimming Title 
Bloomington South Junior Kristina Paegle won the IHSAA Girls Swimming Individual State Championship in the 100 yard freestyle with a time  of 48.78. The meet was held at the IUPUI Natatorium without fans due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.  Paegle won the event last year as a Sophomore with a time of 49.57. Paegle finished 2nd in the 200 yard Freestyle. The Panthers finished 12th with 84 Points. Sydney Anderson Finished 16th in the 50 Yard Freestyle. The Panthers finished 8th in the 200 Freestyle Relay, 9th in the 400 Freestyle Relay and 14th in the 200 Medley Relay. Carmel won a national record 35th straight title with a state record 479 Points. Carmel has won 36 of the 47 Girls Swimming State Championship contested. 

Bloomington South Wrestling Advances 3 Wrestlers to State
Bloomington South will have 3 wrestlers advance to this weekend State Wrestling Championships. The Panthers finished 8th with 50 Points. Tristian Rulhman won the Semistate at 220 Pounds, Delaney Rulhman was 3rd at 138 Pounds and Cade Meier was 4th at 132 Pounds. Aiden Reynolds, Tuff Fender and Miles Libby all lost in the first round and will not advance. Edgewood was 27th with 8 Points. Cash Turner and Lane Deckard both lost there quarterfinal matches and will not advance. Bloomington North’s lone wrestler Chase Hostetler lost in the first round at 152 pounds and will not advance. Evansville Mater Dei won the regional with 172.5 Points. Brownsburg , Avon, Floyd Central and Center Grove round out the Top 5.
