Lane Closures to Begin North of State Road Closure in Martinsville

State Road 37 is now closed in Martinsville to allow for faster and safer construction of the new I-69 between S.R. 39 and Morgan Street. The official detour follows S.R. 39, S.R. 67 and S.R. 144. Long-distance traffic is encouraged to use alternate routes including I-65, S.R. 135 and I-70.

New Indiana State Police Troopers Report for Duty

The Bloomington Indiana State Police Post welcomes two new troopers who recently graduated from the Indiana State Police 80th Recruit Academy. The troopers completed 25 weeks of rigorous training and more than 1,100 hours of academic and hands-on training in criminal and traffic law, crash investigation, emergency vehicle operations, defensive tactics, firearms, and other classes necessary for modern policing. 25 year-old Probationary Trooper Ben Burris and 23 year-old Probationary Trooper Curtis Wilder have reported for duty to the Bloomington State Police Post.

Maryland defeats the Indiana Lady Hoosiers 84-80

Your 19th nationally ranked Lady Hoosiers lost last night to 12th ranked Maryland. Maryland jumped off to an early big lead and maintained it by shooting over 53% from the field. Indiana made it a close game in the 4th quarter but could not overcome the deficit. IU Junior Guard Grace Berger led all with 26 points and 7 assists in the3 84-80 loss. Indiana falls to 5-3 for the season (3-1 in the conference). Next up, IU travels to Penn State Thursday evening.
