Hit and run suspects sought
A driver hit and left a man bleeding at the intersection of Kirkwood and College Avenues in Bloomington, just before 2am on Sunday morning. The 21 year-old pedestrian had been crossing the street when he was struck by what was described as an Orange Jeep, which then fled the scene. The victim was taken to IU Health Bloomington Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, including abdominal bruising, broken bones, and missing teeth. A few blocks away, Police later found the vehicle they believe to have been involved with the incident. Witnesses said they was a man and a woman exiting the Jeep and walking down an alley near 7th and Lincoln. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the police department.

Bloomington’s Ten under 40 Award Recipients named
The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce announced their Ten under 40 Honorees for 2021. The annual 10 Under 40 Awards honors ten young professionals under the age of 40 for their outstanding leadership in the workplace and community involvement.  An Awards ceremony for these individuals will be held Wednesday, July 28th between 5:30-7:30pm at the Switchyard Park Pavilion off of Rogers Street in Bloomington. This year’s recipients are:Gloria Howell, Jay Nelson, Kaisa Goodman, Peter Iverson, Geng Wang, Lauren Dexter-Burns, Adam Gross, Shatoyia Moss, Hilary Fleck, and Abby Henkel

Indiana University Health LifeLine becomes Indiana’s largest EMS provider
The IU Health South Central Region Emergency Medical Services team will integrate with Indiana University Health LifeLine on July 1, 2021. This integration will make Indiana University Health LifeLine the largest EMS provider in the state and one of the most comprehensive EMS programs in the nation. The IU Health SCR EMS serves Monroe, Orange, and Lawrence counties with 911 emergency medical services (EMS), advanced life support, basic life support, and assisted medical transport. IU Health LifeLine has six critical care bases, five helicopters and provides 911 EMS services, advanced life support, and basic life support in more than seven Indiana counties. The integration of the IU Health SCR EMS team with LifeLine will streamline systems, equipment, operations, and the standard of care for patients. The integration will also provide south-central hospitals and providers expanded medical transport services.
