The #6 Indiana Hoosiers (15-1 / 5-1) will host the Wisconsin Badgers (6-11 / 2-4) on Sunday afternoon. The tip is set for 2pm and the game will be available on B1G+. This will be the only scheduled regular season match-up between these team for the 2022-23 season. IU has won their previous 8 games against Wisconsin.

The Badgers are coming off of their second straight Big Ten win, with an overtime contest against Michigan State. Freshman Serah Williams had a career-high 31 points and 13 rebounds on Wednesday night, posting her second double-double of the season.

Collectively, Wisconsin shot just shy of 53% from the field against Michigan State, and are averaging 43% for the season, along with a scoring average of 70 ppg. Senior Guard Julia Pospisilova leads the team in scoring with 13.5 and more than 5 rebounds per game.

Indiana is coming off of a big win against #9 Maryland, where the Hoosier fended off a 4th quarter surge by the Terps, led by Graduate Guard Grace Berger, who inspired Indiana with some fantastic plays immediately following her staying in game after committing her 4th foul with just over 6 minutes remaining. Sydney Parrish fouled out of that game, but still led the Hoosiers in scoring 18, and added 3 steals and 5 rebounds. Senior Forward Mackenzie Holmes had a double-double, scoring 15 and rebounding 10.

The Hoosiers will look to control the tempo of the game with defensive stops and quick transitions. Expect Wisconsin to apply a zone defense in hopes that they can keep Indiana from getting the ball into the paint on offense. IU has struggled with perimeter shooting over the past few games, and the Badgers will be hoping to challenge the Hoosiers to win the game with outside shooting.

Notable

Wisconsin’s Julie Pospíšilová is closing in on scoring her 1,000th point. She has 971 going into game against IU. She was teenage standout in the Czech Republic, winning two gold medals playing for her national team in the European Championships Pospíšilová would be the 28th member of the 1,000-point club at UW going back to 1981, but the first to be born outside the US.

With a victory against the Badgers, IU Head Coach Teri Moren will tie Jim Izard’s record of 188 program wins
